Dry Eye Research and Clinical Trials

dry eye research

Call our clinical research division at (502) 219-7700 to see if you are eligible to participate in dry eye research clinical trials where you will receive free eye care and be reimbursed for your time.

We regularly recruit patients (study subjects) to enroll in dry eye research and clinical trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, surgical and medical equipment firms, and others attempting to prove the usefulness of a new pharmaceutical agent, treatments, surgical implants, or diagnostic medical devices.

All these clinical studies are done with the goal of getting the medication, treatment, implant, or device approved by the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

Our Commitment to You

At The Eye Care Institute & Dry Eye Center of Kentucky, we take your health, wellness, and vision very seriously. That’s why we only participate in dry eye research for Phase II, III, and IV trials, along with post-marketing studies.

Specifically, after the treatment, device, implant, or drug has been proven not to be harmful, we then participate in clinical trials to determine how successfully the item being tested works, and for how long.

Dry eye disease can be very frustrating to deal with. By participating in a clinical trial, you have the chance to experience new treatment options not yet available to the public. There is a chance you will only get a placebo, that is, the treatment will not have the active study ingredient, but most often you won’t know which treatment you get.

This is to reduce bias in the results of the trial. By participating, you are furthering your own eye care as well as contributing to the efforts to bring more relief options to the market.
